TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Toyota Indonesia will start exporting small multipurpose vehicles (LMPV), Veloz, to 16 countries starting next year, along with the launch of the All New Toyota Veloz.. Veloz is part of the class variant of the Avanza.

"First we will meet domestic consumers' needs, and hopefully by early next year we will be able to export to 16 countries," Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) director Bob Azam said in a press conference, November 10.

He estimates an export volume of 4,000 to 4,500 units per month to a number of countries in South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia.

He said that the vehicle developed in Indonesia will become Toyota's global model and will also be produced in other countries. Bob said he was proud that Veloz has became Toyota's global model, which is proof of Indonesia's automotive industry strength—capable of not only producing cars, but also developing models and have them made in other countries.

"This is actually the next level of the automotive industry in Indonesia," Bob said.
