TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia presented The Land of Diversity and highlighted the country’s three main sectors, viz. trade, investment and tourism at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Based on an official release received in Jakarta on Friday, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who were accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and several other state ministers, attended the Expo 2020 Dubai on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

“Indonesia is The Land of Majesty, a land with natural and cultural riches. Indonesia is The Land of Opportunity, which will continue to open up new opportunities and chances. Indonesia is The Land of Innovation, which will strive to innovate for future generations. This is us, Indonesia, The Land of Diversity,” President Jokowi said in his speech.

The National Day Indonesia features Indonesia’s achievements and developments, along with the country’s profile in all sectors, including in the economic sector, the social sector, and the diverse cultural sector.

Prior to the cultural show event centered at the Al Wasl area of the 2020 Expo Dubai, President Jokowi and Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto had met with UAE Vice President and UAE Prime Minister/Ruler of Dubai Y.M. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rasid Al Maktoum and attended the Indonesia-UAE Investment Forum/Business Forum.

President Jokowi and his entourage also witnessed the signing of a string of bilateral cooperation—including government-to-government and business-to-business cooperation—between the central banks of both nations, cooperation for the certification of sailor training, investment cooperation, cooperation for the evasion of double taxation, cooperation in the fields of health (mutual acknowledgement of both countries’ vaccination and PCR certificates), export credit, renewable energy, port infrastructure development, aviation, oil and gas refineries, telecommunications, pharmacy, and the cooperation of sovereign wealth funds of both countries in several investments in the strategic sector, such as infrastructure.
