Jokowi to Attend National Day in Dubai Expo 2020

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is scheduled to attend the art and cultural event dubbed the Indonesia National Day in Dubai Expo 2020, United Arab Emirate (UEA). Jokowi will deliver speech and watch the event live.

“Indonesia will perform as a country with a full of natural charm and quality human resources,” said Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in his official statement.

Indonesia National Day is series of event at Dubai Expo 2020, participated by 192 countries. Each country representatives will show their cultures. The Indonesia National Day will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, with the theme of “Land of Diversity” to show the diversity of Indonesia, either in its cultures, tribes, and languages, or even in its potential in various sectors such as the trade, investment, and tourism.

The event will involve a hundred of dancers.They will perform traditional dances and play traditional musical instrument.

The Indonesia cultural shows at the National Day event is hoped to be able to attract 2,000 visitors. The government hopes this event will open more opportunities for the people to visit Indonesia Pavilion.

The event will be held in Al Wasl Plaza, a luxurious hall built dedicatedly to welcome the Dubai Expo 2020.
