TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Starting today, the Jakarta Metro Police impose the odd-even policy in Ragunan Zoo area, South Jakarta. This follows the reopening of the recreational destination during the level 2 of Covid-19 restrictions or PPKM Level 2.

"There will be around 15 to 20 joint personnel to guard the odd-even traffic policy there," said Jakarta Traffic Police official Sr. Commissioner Argo Wiyono on Saturday, October 23.

The officers will be posted at the entrance of the zoo. So, only certain vehicles that may enter and park in the Ragunan area. "Today is 23, meaning it's an odd day. So, the cars with even plate numbers cannot get in, but the passengers may go," Argo explained.

The traffice policy is also imposed in other destinations, namely Ancol and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, or TMII.

The odd-even policy in the three tourism sites is effective starting at 12:00 Jakarta time.
Jakarta Transportation Department head, Syafrin Liputo, stated that the policy is planned to be imposed on October 22-24 and October 29-31 from 12:00 to 18:00. "Motorcycles are excluded [in the policy]."

The implementation of the regulations were based on the Home Affairs Ministerial Instruction Number 53/2021, Jakarta Governor Dedcree No. 1245/2021, and Transportation Department Issuance No. 438/2021.
