TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) launched a sting operation or OTT on Monday, October 18, in Riau Province. The anti-graft agency head Firli Bahuri confirmed that his side was still collecting evidence.

“Give us time to work on collecting evidence of alleged corruption,” said Firli in his statement in Jakarta, October 19.

Firli also said that the KPK investigators are still in the field. “They are still working,” he said.

The KPK deputy chairman Nurul Ghufron earlier confirmed the sting operation in Riau Province last Monday. However, he stopped short of detailing which regions the KPK team conducted the activity in Riau.

In addition, there has been no further information on parties who have been arrested or details of the case.

Based on circulated information, the OTT was executed in Kuantan Singingi or Kuansing Regency. According to the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of the arrested parties.
