TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta government announced there were zero requests for burial under COVID-19 health protocol for 24 hours from October 6 (18:00 WIB) to October 7 (18:00) at the Rorotan Public Cemetery.
The significant drop in coronavirus-related burials was confirmed by Sukino, the Head of Public Cemetery Management Unit at Rorotan in North Jakarta. He said the number of COVID-19 burial requests dropped in the past week.
“For the past week there were only only burials at maximum a day. But yesterday I saw none,” said Sukino to Tempo on October 8.
The unit managed by Sukino receives information from the Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service Agency and conducts COVID-19 burials at the Rorotan cemetery.
