TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - On their last day of work today, September 30, 58 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who were dismissed for failure to pass the controversial civic knowledge test (TWK) established 'Indonesia Memanggil 57 Institute' (IM57+ Institute) and made the declaration.

The Institute would become a forum for employees who were unlawfully fired by the anti-graft body through the TWK process that was against human rights and such maladministration in the implementation.

M. Praswad Nugraha as the coordinator explained IM57+ Institute has an Executive Board consisting of Hery Muryanto (former Deputy for Coordination and Supervision), Sujanarko (former Director of PJKAKI), Novel Baswedan, Giri Suprapdiono (former Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign), and Chandra SR (Former Head of HR Bureau).

Additionally, there are the Investigation Board (consisting of senior investigators), the Law and Strategic Research Board (legal experts and senior researchers), and the Education and Training Board (experts in anti-corruption education and training).

“This institute is expected to be a place for 58 KPK alumni to contribute to eradicating corruption through studies, strategies, and anti-corruption education,” Praswad added.

Praswad also said 58 people who were fired had made real contributions in eradicating corruption. “So the contribution cannot stop today and the IM57+ Institute is a home [for them] to keep consolidating these contributions and movements to achieve Indonesia's anti-corruption goal,” he said.
