TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, announced that the government dropped the level of COVID-19 public mobility restrictions (PPKM) in Bali based on the evaluation of the policy implementation in the previous period from September 6-13.

The PPKM status in Bali was dropped from the strictest level 4 to level 3, which will take effect until next week or September 20. “The government has finally succeeded in dropping Bali’s PPKM status to level 3” Luhut announced tonight, September 13.

Luhut explained the decline in the PPKM level in the region was in line with the pandemic situation that continued to improve in terms of the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases, the number of patients in hospitals, and the number of deaths.

Besides Bali, the PPKM levels of several regions were also eased. Luhut mentioned that there are now three regencies or cities under PPKM Level 4 from previously 11 regions.
