Megawati Hospitalization a Hoax, PDIP Secretary Confirms

TEMPO.CO Jakarta The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) secretary Hasto Kristiyanto on Thursday denied rumors suggesting that the Party leader Megawati Soekarnoputri had been hospitalized. He insisted that it was a mere hoax.
Hasto said he could confirmed it as he personally communicated online with the Party Chair on Wednesday evening and met with her this morning. He said that the 74-year old Party Chairperson constantly exercises and is living a healthy lifedata-style.
“I faced Bu Mega (Megawati) this morning, she continues to pay close attention to the pandemic and international politics,” the PDIP secretary wrote in a statement on September 9.
Rumors about the hospitalization of Megawati Soekarnoputri first emerged on social media, Twitter, which was spread by several accounts. One of them was @4ngeliana Putri which tweeted a news article about the hospitalization rumor.
