TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bandung Government decided to relax restrictions on tourism as the city has been classified as the Covid-19 yellow zone or at low risk of Covid-19 transmission. A number of tourist destinations will be allowed to reopen.

Bandung Mayor Oded M Danial said the rule relaxation was also based on the inputs of tourism and hotel business associations. “MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector will also be given relaxation, as well as zoos and outdoor sports facilities,” he said in Bandung City Hall, West Java, Wednesday, September 8.

With the reopening of tourism, Kiara Artha Park, Trans Studio Bandung, and Saung Angklung Udjo are allowed to operate under strict health protocols.

Oded reminded the management of the tourist sites and visitors to be disciplined in complying with the predetermined health protocols in order to maintain the current Covid-19 situations. The number of positive cases, he underlined, must not increase again after the rule relaxation.

Oded also said the city administration will later regulate the capacity, operating hours, and visitors allowed to enter the tourist destinations and other venues.

“People are allowed to dine-in in restaurants located inside a building with a limited time of one hour each. Eateries are still permitted to operate at 25 percent capacity. We are following [Covid-19] regulations set by the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Oded said.
