TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria on Thursday revealed that the bed occupancy ratio across 140 hospitals treating Covid-19 patients in the capital city had dived from 90 percent in June and July to only 15 percent.

“The bed occupancy ratio has dropped to 15 percent from 8,189 beds occupied to just 1,211 hospital beds,” said the deputy governor during his visit to the mass vaccination for Nahdlatul Ulama management on September 2.

ICU facilities have also seen a positive development as occupancies have dropped to 31 percent, which means out of 1,349 ICU beds available in Jakarta for Covid-19 treatment, 414 are occupied. This coincides with the claimed flattening Covid-19 curve in Jakarta.

Citing the city administration’s Health Agency at corona.jakarta.go.id on Wednesday, Sept 2, the growth of cases was under 1,000 below average with 673 additional cases. Current active cases undergoing isolation and treatment were 6,661 people m, which was a 435 drop.

Meanwhile, the mortality rate in Jakarta was 1.6 percent with a total of 13,302 deaths since the pandemic began, while the recovery rate was currently 97.7 percent.
