COVID-19 Update: Indonesia Logs Additional 12,618 Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The country’s COVID-19 Task Force reported 12,618 confirmed new cases on Friday, August 27, 2021, increasing the total case count to 4,056,354. Based on the Health Ministry’s data at noon the figures came from the testing results of 184,115 specimens.

East Java contributed the highest number with 1,409 cases, followed by West Java with 1,348, Central Java with 1,069, North Sumatra with 1,056, and Yogyakarta with 688.

Recoveries on Friday were recorded up by 19,290 to 3,689,256, while COVID-19 deaths rose by 559 to 130,781.
