TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - The Yogyakarta Government asked the central government to revise travel regulations, particularly for users of public transportation services, such as buses, trains, and planes.

Yogyakarta Deputy Governor Paku Alam X made the request during an online coordination meeting on the use of the PeduliLindungi app for the transportation sector with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, on Sunday afternoon, August 22.

Paku Alam X proposed that tourists who have received a complete Covid-19 vaccination would no longer need to undergo a Covid-19 test, either antigen swab or PCR. “The test may be removed for travelers who have been vaccinated twice,” he opined.

He also asked the government to raise the status of the Port Health Office or KKP which carried out passenger health checks. “In order to have optimal human resources and health check facilities,” said the sultan of Pakualaman Yogyakarta.

If the KKP status is upgraded, he explained, it will be easier to deploy more officers, and so the passenger checks can be carried out faster and more efficiently.

Paku Alam X also said that due to the lack of human resources, officers often could not directly enter data on prospective passengers and record the results of the Covid-19 laboratory test into the New All Records or NAR system of the Health Ministry, while it is connected to the PeduliLindungi app as a requirement for travel.
