TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has started to implement Covid-19 vaccinations as one of many requirements for the people to conduct public activities amid the pandemic restrictions. Jakarta city administration, for example, firmly encouraged its people to get Covid-19 shots before conducting public activities.

“Before public activities are opened, people must be vaccinated against Covid-19,” said Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in a Youtube video uploaded by the Jakarta administration on Saturday, July 31.

Since then, many businesses such as barbershops, restaurants, malls, and religious activities are allowed to operate again as long as visitors are already vaccinated.

So, how can someone register for a vaccination? One of the ways is through the government-developed surveillance app PeduliLindungi. First, you need to access the website Pedulilindungi.id to register and create an account, followed by registering your personal identification written in your ID Card (KTP) along with an active email.

Do not forget to agree to the terms and conditions before clicking on the ‘register’ button. Once you have done that, you will receive an OTP code sent either to your email or short text messaging services (SMS).

Enter the website again with your newly confirmed account and click on the ‘vaccination registration’ menu where you will be asked to register required personal data. You will be able to personally pick the date and location of the vaccination. Confirm what you had just input along with a verification code.
