Covid-19 Task Force: 39,726 Patients Recovered Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continues to increase, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force reported. On Thursday, August 5, there were 35,764 new confirmed cases.

Based on the Health Ministry's data as of 12:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), the new infections were detected after testing 248,556 specimens.

Indonesia has thus recorded 3,568,331 cases since the first infections discovered in March last year.

Five provinces contributing the highest number of positive cases were West Java with 4,718 cases, Central Java with 4,252 cases, East Java with 4,074 cases, Jakarta with 2,311 cases, and East Kalimantan with 2,083 cases.

The Task Force also recorded that 39,726 patients have recovered, bringing the total recovery to 2,947,646. The death toll, meanwhile, reached 102,375 as 1,739 more patients succumbed to the illness today.
