TEMPO.CO, Cikarang - News about a Cikarang resident named Wasit Ridwan, 47, who failed to get his first Covid-19 vaccine because his national identity number (NIK) was used by a foreigner named Lee In Wong went viral on social media. Wasit lived in Villa Mutiara Cikarang residential complex, Ciantra Village, South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.

The case of a double identity number was revealed when Wasit visited the vaccination center near his home to get the shot. He had already passed the medical screening, but could not continue the process because based on the vaccination database, his identity number had been used under the name of other people.

Lee In Wong received the vaccine on June 25 at KKP Class 1 Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The foreign national was scheduled to obtain the second dose on September 17, 2021.

Bekasi Acting Regent Dani Ramdan confirmed that Wasit had been vaccinated on Tuesday. The regional population agency (Disdukcapil) was still examining the case. “Pak Wasit has been vaccinated. I have ordered the Disdukcapil head to coordinate this with the Home Affairs Ministry,” Dani said before the reporters in Cikarang, Wednesday, August 4.

Dani asked related institutions to find out the cause of the double identity number which interfered with the Covid-19 vaccination program. “There will be revision from the Home Affairs Ministry,” he said.
