TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Jodi Mahardi, said that there has yet a plan to extend the implementation of Emergency PPKM in Java-Bali.

"There is no plan for an extension yet," Jodi told Tempo, Wednesday, July 14.

Jodi said the possibility of extending the emergency state of social restriction will be depending upon the development of the level of people’s mobility, especially in agglomeration areas. "This option will be evaluated first," he said.

According to Jodi, day, his side evaluates the implementation of the Covid-19 curbs in all provinces every day. From the data obtained, there have been many improvements, especially in the people’s mobility with the range of minus 9 percent to 21 percent.

Jodi said there are a number of areas in which the people’s mobility still need to be suppressed, such as in industrial areas and at night time. "The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affaris and Investment (Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan) instructed all stakeholders to work consistently to reduce the number of people’s mobility by 30-50 percent," he said.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a meeting with the House on Monday, July 12, said the Emergency PPKM would be extended for up to 6 weeks to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases.
