TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said his administration is ready if the central government decides to extend the emergency state of social restriction. The policy, known locally as the Emergency PPKM, is in effect from July 3 until 20.

"We are ready to implement the policies decided by the central government if they believe the Emergency PPKM has not given significant improvement and needs to be extended," Riza said at the Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday night, July 13.

Riza said that in the 10 days of Emergency PPKM, the mobility of residents have declined by more than 50 percent. Recovery rate also increased, even though the number of fatalities remains unchanged.

According to the Jakarta Transportation Agency, the Emergency PPKM has so far resulted in a 17.2-percent reduction in workplace mobility. The volume of motorized vehicle traffic also fell by 61.76 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of in-city public transportation passengers per day is down by 46.66 percent. The number of inter-city and inter-provincial (AKAP) passengers is down by 59.12 percent.
