TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta deputy governor Ahmad Riza Patria on Tuesday claimed that the Emergency PPKM (public activity restriction) had managed to reduce the capital city resident’s mobility to more than 50 percent.

Patria hoped that positive results can be seen from the Emergency PPKM that is slated to end in July 20. "Hopefully, the reduced mobility, interaction, and crowd, will all give positive returns," he said in an Instagram live when visiting Covid-19 vaccination at South Jakarta's One Belpark on Tuesday, July 13.

Moreover, the Jakarta Transportation Agency said public mobility amidst the Emergency PPKM had seen an effective reduction compared to the Micro PPKM enforced on June 5-9. In offices, it dropped 17.20 percent while the traffic was greatly reduced by 61.76 percent.

Public transports logged a 46.66 percent reduction in passengers while inter-provincial transportation passengers dropped 59.12 percent. The Indonesian central government has enforced the Emergency PPKM in Java and Bali from July 3 to 20, following the Covid-19 surge across the two islands.
