TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria says that one of the biggest problem of the Covid-19 pandemic is that we never know when will it happen and/or end. He, therefore, calls on the people of Jakarta to be ready for whatever will happen next.

"Of course we all hope that this pandemic to end soon. But we also have to be ready if this pandemic will, in fact, continue and affect our ways of living," he said during the vaccination event for the community of people with disabilities held by Hippindo on Friday, July 9.

According to the deputy governor, what the people must do today is to keep doing their best efforts and pray. He asks the public to pray for the ones who succumbed to Covid-19 and pray for those who are exposed to the new Coronavirus - and still struggling to fight against the disease - to recover soon.

Nowadays, many more people are exposed to the virus, including our closest ones, he said. "I feel so sad everytime I hear ambulance carrying the body of a Covid-19 patient who diceased [passes by]," said the Gerindra politician.

The deputy governor appeals the public to help success the emergency state of the community activity restriction or Emergency PPKM. One of the ways is to stay at home the best possible you can to prevent the spread of Covid-19 transmission.
