TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The tourism industry players said they are ready to support the implementation of the vaccine tourism program launched by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry led by Sandiaga Uno. This is part of efforts to push for national vaccination and revive the region’s economy that was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

One of the support is voiced by the low-cost carrier AirAsia. CEO of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine, said her side is ready to back all preparations for recovery in Bali and Indonesia, especially with the vaccine tourism plan.

“We will do our best to support and take part in this initiative as the first step in the recovery of tourism in Bali and Indonesia,” said Veranita in a written statement on Monday, June 28.

The Bali Tourism Board chairman Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana also said his party supports the implementation of vaccine tourism on the island and is ready to cooperate with the government.

“We will arrange a vaccine tourism program so it runs safely and comfortably,” said Ida Bagus.

The Deputy Managing Director-MICE of ATS Vacations travel agent, Linda Febriani Siregar, said Indonesian people show high interest to take vaccine tour packages abroad.

“So why don't we develop a vaccine tourism program in Indonesia so that it can open jobs while supporting the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy, especially in Bali,” Linda expressed support for Sandiaga Uno’s program.
