Indonesia Records Highest Covid-19 Case on June 26

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 daily cases in Indonesia surpassed the record again today, June 26, by logging 21,095 cases. The previous high number was 20,574 cases recorded on June 24.
Based on Task Force data, Jakarta logged the highest number with 9,271 infections, which is also the highest record in the capital. Two days ago, the city logged 7,505 cases.
Following Jakarta are West Java and Central Java, with 3,787 cases and 2,305 cases as of Saturday, respectively. Other provinces logged under 1,000 cases.
West Java also recorded the highest mortality rate with 74 Covid-related deaths. It followed by Central Java with 52 deaths, Jakarta with 51 cases, and East Java with 50 deaths.
Today’s cases adding the total number of Coronavirus infections in Indonesia to 2,093,962 cases, with 194,776 active cases.
Task Force also noted there are 358 deaths nationwide, totaling the number of people who succumbed to Covid-19 to 56,729.
