TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria informed that the current occupancy rate of isolation beds and ICUs for Covid-19 patients in the capital city exceeded 50 percent. He disclosed that 3,560 of the 6,694 available isolation beds have been occupied.

Meanwhile, 588 ICU beds are used from the total capacity of 1,076 beds. The occupancy rate hit 52 percent.
As previously reported, the occupancy rate of isolation and ICU beds across the capital has increased for the past three weeks. As of May 23, both occupancy rates were 28 percent an d 31 percent, respectively.
One week later, on May 30, the figures rose to 33 percent and 38 percent. Data as of June 5, stated that the occupancy rate of isolation beds rose again to 42 percent and that of ICU to 45 percent.
Riza said that the surge in the hospital bed occupancy for patients diagnosed with the new coronavirus disease should be a common concern. He asked the public to continue to adhere to the predetermined health protocols.
The Gerindra Party politician also opined that the implementation of Covid-19 health protocols must start from the smallest environment, such as family.
“So we ask that it must start from individuals. It must start from the family. It must start from the smallest unit to ensure that we all implement health protocols properly,” said Riza Patria.
