TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Health Office announced 755 new cases of Covid-19 infection on Tuesday, 8 June 2021. The number was obtained after testing 7,237 people.

Meanwhile, out of the 7,677 people who took the antigen swab tests, 233 people were reactive to Covid-19. But the number is not included in the daily caseload, because the tests were not followed up by PCR.

"The number of active cases as per today is 11,612 people, who are in treatment or isolation," the Health Office's head of disease prevention and control, Dwi Oktavia, said on Tuesday.

To date, the Indonesian capital has recorded a total of 437,087 cases. From that number, 95.6 percent or 417,997 recovered while 7,478 or 1.7 percent passed away.

In the last week, Jakarta's positivity rate stood at 10.3 percent. To anticipate increasing rates of transmission following the Eid holiday, the Jakarta government is adding new isolation facilities.
