Weather Forecast for Jakarta and Bogor Today: Thunderstorm, Strong Winds

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather forecast for Jakarta and Bogor today, May 31. Thunderstorms are forecast in South Jakarta and East Jakarta this afternoon, while rain will shower West Jakarta.

“Beware of the potential rain with lightning and strong winds within a short duration in the areas of West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta in the afternoon and evening,” wrote BMKG on its official page today.

At night, the weather in Jakarta is expected to be partly cloudy, and that will last until Tuesday morning, except for the Thousand Islands or Seribu Islands that will see light rain.

The capital city’s neighboring regions will also be showered. Bogor Regency and City will likely be hit by thunderstorms this afternoon, while Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, and Depok City are predicted to have light rain.

At night, the weather in Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi are predicted to be cloudy and partly sunny. Some areas of Bogor Regency, namely Cisarua and Gadog, will be covered in fog.

BMKG also issued an early warning of potential thunderstorms and strong winds for Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City in the afternoon or evening.
