TEMPO.CO Jakarta Muhammadiyah in its latest circular has set the Eid al-Fitr
One of the largest muslim organization said that the hilal, or the sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal, will be visible across Indonesian regions after the sun sets. This process is based on the organization’s ‘hisab’ or reckoning.
The Indonesian Religious Affairs Ministry itself will hold a similar ‘isbat’ meeting on Tuesday upon naming the first day of Shawwal which determines the Eid al Fitr
The religious ministry will be hosting the Isbat meeting virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions.
