TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) opened monitoring and inspection posts at 20 airports under its management. The posts were prepared for documents checking of travel requirements for people willing to travel during the Eid homecoming ban period from May 6-17, 2021.

“The posts will serve as a coordination and collaboration place among stakeholders that is also aimed to ensure the implementation of health protocols, such as the physical distance policy in the terminal building,” said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

According to him, the monitoring post will record traffic data of passengers, aircraft, and cargo so that stakeholders could always make predictions and stand guard to ensure all operations run smoothly.

“Stakeholders assigned to the monitoring and inspection post include the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Airport Authorities, airlines, and Indonesian Military/National Police, and the local governments,” Awaluddin explained.

As widely announced, the government decided to bar this year’s Eid homecoming. Travel activities are only allowed for work purposes, urgent family matters, or other non-homecoming purposes. People are also obliged to present a negative Covid-19 test result certificate and a travel permit from relevant authorities.
