Top 10 Cleanest Airports in the World in 2024; Mostly in Asia

TEMPO.CO, JakartaSkytrax, a renowned airline rating organization, published the World Airport Awards 2024, which marks the 25th anniversary of its global airport customer satisfaction survey.

The awards comprise the top ten pristine airports across the globe selected based on a comprehensive survey encompassing more than 570 airports and tourists from over 100 countries. 

Of the ten cleanest airports, only one is situated in Europe while the rest are in Asia. The ranking is based on various factors, including the hygiene of seating and restroom facilities.

Haneda Airport tops the list

Haneda Airport located in Tokyo, Japan clinched the top spot as the cleanest airport and has also been named the fourth-best airport in the world. According to Skytrax, the airport boasts immaculate flooring, seating areas, public spaces, and washroom facilities.

“Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the standards of airport cleanliness have become much more important to customers,” the organization said on its official site.

Asia dominates the list 

The survey highlights that the list is dominated by airports in Asia, with four airports hailing from Japan and only one from Europe. 

Here is the list of the cleanest airports in the world in 2024:

1. Tokyo Haneda Airport, Japan

2. Seoul Incheon Airport, South Korea

3. Changi Airport, Singapore

4. Doha Hamad Airport, Qatar

5. Nagoya Centrair Airport, Japan

6. Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan

7. Kansai Airport, Japan

8. Hong Kong Airport, Hong Kong

9. Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan

10. Zurich Airport, Switzerland
