Jakarta Police Deploy 4,000 Personnel to Secure ASEAN Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran said Friday that his office will maximize security efforts ahead of and during the ASEAN Summit 2021 on Saturday, April 24.

The police chief personally inspected the routes that will be used to transport high-ranking guests from the Soekarno-Hatta Airport to the ASEAN headquarters.

“We maximise our efforts in the security aspect,” said Fadil Imran in South Jakarta today, April 23.

The Metro Jaya Police will mobilize 4,382 personnel to secure 51 locations during the ASEAN Summit, starting from the airport and up to the hotels. The Presidential Security Detail will take guard within the first and second perimeter of the event.

Ten head of states of the ASEAN country members, namely Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, are scheduled to attend the summit.
