TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As of April 10, Saturday, 77,819 senior citizens in North Jakarta are recorded to have received Covid-19 vaccines. The number is obtained using domicile-based data in that area.

North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim said that according to data from the Covid-19 Response and National Economic Recovery Committee, which is calculated based on health facility accounts, the number is smaller; 75,383 people.

Ali said that the data between the population registry, KPC-PEN, and the actual inspections are surely different. But he said that he did not give these data differences to officers, in order to keep their spirits high. "If we give them the percentage comparison, it will only confuse them," Ali said in Jakarta, Monday, April 12.

Ali said that the figure of 77,819 was obtained based on data on elderly people who received Covid-19 vaccines from medic and Dasawisma cadres in all areas of North Jakarta.

According to KPC-PEN data, North Jakarta is targeting to vaccinate 197,104 senior citizens. This means that only 39.5 percent of that target have been met.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Provincial Government recorded that the 496,450 elderly residents have received the vaccines. The highest number is from Central Jakarta, with 95.31 percent of the elderly population vaccinated, followed by the Thousand Islands Regency with 62.73 percent.
