56% Senior Citizens in South Jakarta Receive Covid-19 Vaccines

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 vaccination for senior citizens in South Jakarta has only just reached 56 percent progress. The administrative city/municipality is targeting to vaccinate 179,000 elderly people.
South Jakarta acting mayor Isnawa Adji said that he would monitor the vaccination process for the elderly every day. "I will monitor it every day," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, April 8.
He encouraged all municipal government officials to optimize and mobilize their staff in order to accelerate the target achievement.
Meanwhile, the South Jakarta Health Service Office's head Muhammad Helmy said the target is to have all senior citizens vaccinated before Ramadan.
"This means there are around 40 percent to be given the vaccines before Ramadan, as instructed by the Jakarta Governor, which is 95 percent," he said.
To speed up vaccination of the elderly, the South Jakarta City Government provides transportation for the senior citizens to reach the vaccination locations, including by mobilizing school buses.
