TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno targetted for more than 100,000 workers of Indonesian film industry to get Covid-19 vaccines.

"Maybe over 100,000, so that's our target. We want them to be prioritized (for the vaccination) since they're also the front guard," the minister said when visiting Studio Alam Gamplong in Sleman, Yogyakarta on Friday, April 2.

Until today, he said that 30,000 workers at the film industry had registered for the Covid-19 vaccination, hoping that it could be realized in early April. "Our target is 30,000 for the first phase [of the inoculation]."

Sandiaga hoped that the vaccination could be a momentum for the revival of the film industry and promoting the movement to go back to watch movies at the cinema.

Meanwhile, movie director Hanung Bramantyo said that less than 1,000 film industry workers, including drivers and caretakers at shooting locations in Yogyakarta, will be vaccinated at Jogja Expo Center (JEC) in the near future.

"I hope fellow workers in other regions, such as in Makassar, Palu, and Malang, can help the government to collect data of film industry workers, especially senior actors," Hanung remarked.
