Easter Mass; 2,500 Personnel Secure West Jakarta Churches

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A joint personnel from military (TNI), police, the public order enforcers or Satpol PP, and officers from the Transportation Department is set to guard Easter worship services at churches in West Jakarta.
"Around 2,500 joint officers are deployed to secure Good Friday and Easter Sunday services," said West Jakarta Police Chief, General Commissioner Ady Wibowo on Friday, April 2.
There are 120 churches in West Jakarta area. Of the number, 48 churches perform online services.
"Seventy-two churches are opened to serve offline masses," said Ady.
West Jakarta military commander Col. Inf. Dadang Ismail Marzuki said that there are 300 TNI personnel, or one unit of a military group, in the joint personnel to secure Good Friday services today.
"We also deploy 4 military units to secure Good Friday and Easter services," Dadang added.
