TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is returning to serve flights today, March 22, 2021, as the cargo plane Trigana Air with a registration number PK-YSF was successfully evacuated to the hangar. The aircraft previously made an inappropriate exit from the runway or an excursion.

“The cargo plane that overrun the runway has been completely moved. As of Monday, the airport is reopened for scheduled commercial flights,” said the airport operator AP II Vice President of Corporate Communication Yado Yarismano in today’s statement.

The aircraft evacuation process was done by the rescue and fire fighting service unit at 15:45 WIB Sunday. The airport operator then cleaned up the runway from debris and foreign objects.

On Saturday, Trigana Air underwent an emergency landing at the airport, forcing all flights to be transferred to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

AP II recorded that 49 flights were diverted, viz. 10 departing flights of Citilink, 12 departing flights of Batik Air, 10 arriving flights of Citilink, and 17 arriving flights of Batik Air.

AP II is applying the standard operating procedure or SOP of Multi-airport System at four airports. When Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was closed for civil aviation, Soekarno-Hatta Airport supported it by serving flights that were diverted from Halim Perdanakusuma. Meanwhile, West Java International Airport and Husein Sastranegara were on alert,” Yado explained.
