TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather forecast for Jakarta on its official website, Monday, March 22. This afternoon, a potential rainfall and thunderstorm will likely hit South Jakarta and East Jakarta.

“Be aware of potential rainfalls accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the South and East Jakarta regions in the afternoon and evening,” said the agency.

West Jakarta and North Jakarta also have the potential to experience rainfall this afternoon in light intensity. Central Jakarta is predicted to be cloudy, while it will be sunny in Seribu Islands.

At night, it is predicted that the weather in Jakarta will be sunny and cloudy until early Tuesday, except for Seribu Islands that will likely be showered with light rain.

As for the neighboring cities, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi will experience moderate rain this afternoon. From night to dawn, the weather is expected to be cloudy.

BMKG also issued an early weather warning for the three regions of potential rainfall with lightning. “Be alert to the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds from noon to night in Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency.”
