TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin on Wednesday encouraged the public to help improve the country’s tax compliance as he asserts it helps find the Covid-19 vaccination. It is informed that the VP has filed his annual tax returns (SPT Pajak) through the e-filling system.

“Our tax money is used to fund the Covid-19 vaccination program, subsidizing village funds, and to generally provide a sense of security for the entire Indonesian people,” said Ma’ruf Amin on March 10.

The Ministry of Finance previously announced that the filing for individual annual tax returns will be opened until March 31, while the SPT filing for corporations will be opened until April.

Moreover, the vice president asserted the importance of paying taxes as it boosts economic recovery and helps contribute to the country’s largest income in the State Budget. Ma'ruf Amin also reminded people to file their tax returns before the deadline ends.
