TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration will add the number of vaccinators who will be helping the city’s Covid-19 vaccination program. The city already has 1,648 active vaccinators. With the current staff, Jakarta is able to inoculate 19,741 people on a daily basis.

“The government will add the number of vaccinators even though it is [currently] already more than enough,” said Jakarta Deputy Governor Riza Patria at City Hall on March 4.

To further support the vaccination program, the government has prepared 511 healthcare facilities.

Up to this day, there are 114,056 healthcare workers who have received the vaccine shots with 76,669 more already receiving their second shots along with thousands of elderly people, market traders, athletes, academic workers, and journalists.

“The remaining sectors such as law enforcers have begun,” said the Jakarta Deputy.

Jakarta is also offering official training for healthcare workers who would like to sign up as Covid-19 vaccinators. The Jakarta Provincial Health Training Center (Puslatkesda DKI) holds the training in three sessions from March 4 to 31, with each session able to accommodate 1,000 participants.
