TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairperson Alexander Marwata said the anti-graft agency would likely issue an order to halt the investigations (SP3 order) towards three cases that are being investigated.

“There are possibilities because we have mapped a number of cases that had suspects named in 2016 but have yet been brought [to court],” said the KPK deputy on March 2.

However, Alexander did not specifically detail which cases were dropped by the commission and that this was made possible due to the revision of the KPK law.

He said, to fulfill the requirements of an SP3 order, a person must be named a suspect for over 2 years but has yet been taken to court. There are also cases that were not investigated again due to the health conditions of the suspects.

Before issuing the order to halt the investigations, KPK has collected information and suggestions from legal experts.”What is clear is that we remain transparent. [The decision to stop an investigation] is not exclusively due to the decision of the leader,” said Alex.
