TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Health Ministry's spokesperson for Covid-19 vaccination affairs Siti Nadia Tarmizi, clarified that the government did not oblige companies to participate in the non-subsidized vaccination program.

"[It is just for] companies who are willing to organize it," Nadia told Tempo on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Therefore, Siti emphasized, the government did not prepare incentives for companies participating in the program. This meant that those willing to conduct private vaccination must finance it themselves for their employees.

Nadia has not yet estimated the costs that the company would need to spend. However, she ensured that the government would set the price ceiling.

The non-subsidized vaccination is a special Covid-19 vaccine program for workers under the responsibility of the company. A group of entrepreneurs, who are members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), proposed the program to the government in an effort to accelerate the vaccination program for industry.

Previously, Nadia reiterated that the government was drafting regulations for the implementation of non-subsidized Covid-19 vaccination. The vaccines in the program would not be sold to individuals, but rather to labor-intensive corporations, she added. In the procurement process, the budget would be fully borne by the company so that employees do not have to pay.
