TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta administration’s secretary of economics and finance, Sri Haryati, said that the city has prepares strategies to help the city’s economic recovery post-Covid-19 pandemic.

She said this program aims to boost the recovery of the capital city’s socio-economy sector. The government has designed strategic recovery packages that will become a social safety net for prone groups.

The Jakarta administration will provide stimulus for the economic sector through tax relaxations and retributions. Moreover, it plans to simplify the bureaucracy process in obtaining permits and make way for the ease of investments.

She said this plan after participating in a discussion initiated by Bank Indonesia which was aimed to encourage synergy and collaboration among institutions and organizations in the tourism sector.

“The effects of the pandemic in the tourism sector is huge, we need inputs and ideas from many sides to collectively think about a solution,” Sri Haryati wrote in a statement on Wednesday, February 17.

The discussion saw regional-owned enterprise Jakarta Tourisindo (Jakarta Experience Board) urged for a collaboration among stakeholders to develop and spark the city’s tourism and economic recovery.

“We all want Jakarta to grow, and above 5 percent if possible,” said Onny Widjanarko, Bank Indonesia representative for Jakarta.
