TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Secretariat, the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held a handover event of goods of state possession (BMN) originating from gratuities reported by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo. The gratuities were in the form of 12 gifts with an estimated value of Rp8.788 billion.

"All gratuity items reported by the President to the KPK are determined as state property by a decree. According to regulations, after the decree is issued, the KPK is obliged to hand over the items to the Finance Ministry through the DJKN,” said the KPK acting director of gratuity and public service, Syarief Hidayat, in a written statement on Thursday, February 11.

However, due to security reasons, Director of State Wealth Management and Information System (PKNSI) Purnama T. Sianturi, representing the DJKN, entrusted the twelve items to the Presidential Secretariat.

The handover of the gratuities was a follow-up on the issuance of the KPK Decree No. 1527 of 2020 dated October 27, 2020, concerning the determination of gratification ownership status based on the report of Joko Widodo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

President Jokowi’s report was a form of compliance of the State Administrators with the law and was expected to become an example for civil servants or state apparatuses (ASN) and other state administrators in raising awareness and compliance to report gratuities they have received.
