TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Wishnutama Kusubandio has been named the new president commissioner of Cellular Telecommunications or Telkomsel. Wishnutama said he has three focuses to develop the company, the first is to accelerate digitization, both in terms of service and management.

"We want Telkomsel to be strong in digital. In an era like this, we must take advantage of the extraordinary digital acceleration," Wishnutama told Tempo, Thursday, February 11.

Telkomsel, he said, will become a digital telecommunications company that applies data driven businesses, and builds artificial intelligence and machine learning to attract customers and enhances user experience. Digital acceleration is expected to improve the relationship between consumers and companies.

The second focus is to push the company to act as an aggregator for films, content, music, and other art and entertainment products. The third is to push the entity into developing digital properties and expand network penetration.

Despite its position as Indonesia's largest cellular telephone operator, Wishnutama asked Telkomsel not to be complacent. "Because other competitors are also not doing nothing. They don't sleep," said the former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
