TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Geisha cafe and bar located in Cengkareng Timur, West Jakarta, was permanently closed by the Jakarta Public Order Agency or Satpol PP for violating the predetermined health protocols against Covid-19.

The agency was forced to shut down the business place as the owner was unable to cooperate about its operation during the enforcement of the community activity restrictions (PPKM) and never heeded warnings from the authorities.

“We have called in [the owner] over miscommunication to resolve the issue to the Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency. However, the person concerned was not present at the summons,” said the Jakarta Satpol PP Head Eko Saptono here on Tuesday, February 9.

The agency then recommended the city’s Parekraf Agency to impose a sanction in the form of permanent closure of Geisha cafe. Thus, the cafe located at Ruko Mutiara, Taman Palem Blok A17, Cengkareng, was sealed with the Satpol PP line. The owner witnessed the sealing.

Based on the decree of the Parekraf Agency, Jakarta Satpol PP permanently locked the cafe and bar. This was in line with the Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 8.2007 on public order and the Perda No. 18/2018 on tourism, as well as the regulation on PPKM in efforts to prevent Covid-19 through the enforcement of the health protocols.
