TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police on Monday claims that there were no health protocols violations in the birthday party of known businessman and Indonesia's KFC chain owner Ricardo Gelael, which was attended by local celebrity Raffi Ahmad.

The initial suspicion was that physical distancing was not heeded and based on a social media picture by Raffi, face masks were also not worn at the event.

Raffi Ahmad’s social media content caused public uproar as prior to his attendance in the party he was one of the first recipients of the inaugural Covid-`9 vaccination.  Raffi had also issued a public apology after the photo he posted gained traction.

“The prejudice of Article 93 from Law No.6/2018 on Health Quarantine was nonexistent as there were only 18 people in attendance,” said Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Grand Comm. Yusri Yunus on January 18.

Moreover, police confirmed that after questioning 10 people who were in the party, the event adhered to health protocols and people attending had been swab tested before entering the venue.

Police also say that everyone had been swab tested and there were only 18 people that comprised Ricardo Gelael’s closest people in his birthday party.
