Pertamina Projects Raising Fuel Imports to 113 million Barrels in 2021

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina president director Nicke Widyawati said the company estimates this year's fuel import to increase by 13.5 percent to 113 million barrels. Last year, the state-owned energy company imported 97.8 million barrels.
The import of Premium Gasoline of Ron 88 is 53.7 million barrels, while Pertamax gasoline or RON 92 is 59.3 million barrels. From the amounts, she said, Premium import volume is down while Pertamax's is raised.
"We are raising the import volume of Pertamax to be mixed into Pertalite," Nicke said in a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission VII on Tuesday, February 9.
In the company's 2021 Work Budget Plan (RKAP), Pertamina pegs oil price at US$51 per barrel. However, in January oil prices already stood at US$59 a barrel.
Meanwhile, the price of Pertamina's Premium gasoline import in 2021 is projected at US$51.7 per barrel, and Pertamax at US$53.3 per.
