TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Wishnutama Kusubandio has been reappointed as Tokopedia commissioner after resigning from the e-commerce company in October of 2019 when tapped by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as Tourism and Creative Economy Minister.
He will also reportedly hold a meeting with the CEO of the unicorn, which was confirmed by himself on Monday, February 8. “Discussions are planned to take place this week,” said Wishnutama Kusubandio.
The discussions will focus on business programs and strategies that will potentially involve Wishnutama. The former minister added he was intent on meeting with the company's management before he officially began working for the company again.
Wishnutama also conveyed his gratitude for his reappointment, saying he sought to help Tokopedia progress by better empowering MSMEs, improving the digitalization of local companies, and “improve Tokopedia and aim at equalizing Indonesia’s digital economy, especially from the aspect of utilizing local MSMEs that will surely help boost the country’s creative economy.”
