Jakarta Covid-19 Positivity Rate Increases as 3,567 New Cases Detected

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Health Agency Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division, Dwi Oktavia, reported 3,567 new cases of coronavirus disease or Covid-19 today, February 3. The figure, she added, came from the result of PCR tests on 18,121 people.

"The number of people getting PCR tests in the past week is 122,285," said Dwi in a written statement on Wednesday.

Throughout the past week, the case positivity rate was recorded at 18.7 percent, an increase from the figure at the previous week of 15 percent. The World Health Organization (WHO) set the ideal rate at below five percent.

With the additional 3,567 fresh cases, the capital city’s active cases increased by 2,231. There are 26,031 patients under self-isolation or being treated at hospitals. Jakarta has so far detected 280,261 cases.

Of which, Dwi outlined that 249,810 patients have recovered, bringing the recovery rate to 89.1 percent. Meanwhile, 4,420 Covid-19 patients have died and caused the mortality rate to 1.6 percent. "While Indonesia's Covid-19 death rate is 2.8 percent," she informed.
