Indonesia Records 11,948 New Covid-19 Cases on January 27

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The national Covid-19 task force has published its latest daily statistics as of Wednesday, January 27, 2021, which logged 11,948 new cases. This adds to the total nationwide coronavirus cases of 1,024,298 confirmed cases.
The statistic also showed a record-breaking death toll related to Covid-19 with 387 fatalities recorded on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. The number is the highest ever recorded in Indonesia adding to a grand total of 28,855 deaths.
The newly recorded cases come from test results of 77,788 specimens. However, the confirmed number of cases on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, is lower compared to Tuesday, January 26, 2021, with 14,094 newly recorded cases from 75,194 test specimens.
West Java continues to be the largest contributor to the number of national confirmed cases with 3,198 cases, followed by Jakarta after recording 1,836 new cases. Meanwhile, Central Java recorded 1,797 new cases followed by East Java in with 1,064 new confirmed cases.
