TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Families and colleagues of passengers and crew of Sriwijaya Air SJ182 threw flowers and petals from the deck of an Indonesian Navy ship on Friday, January 22, over the location where it is believed to be the crash site of the fateful flight.

According to the Navy spokesperson, First Admiral Julius Widjojono said that Sriwijaya Air management had invited state and navy officials to the mass-prayer event for the deceased passengers of SJ182.

The memorial event came after the national search and rescue team had officially stopped the search for victims of the crashed flight on Thursday, January 21, after 13-days of meticulous search since January 9th.

The joint search team until Thursday managed to retrieve 324 body bags - and identified 43 bodies, 64 smaller-sized aircraft debris, and 54 large-parts of Sriwijaya Air’s flight SJ182. However, the government will continue to look for the missing cockpit voice recorder (CVR) memory card from one of the plane’s black boxes.
