TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Following the United States inauguration, Associate Director Fixed Income Anugerah Sekuritas, Ramdhan Ario Maruto, predicts that market players will wait and see programs that Joe Biden would offer which is said to have a long term positive catalyst for the Indonesian bond and stock market.

“Throughout the Donald Trump administration, the condition of the global market, was turbulent due to several policies such as the trade war with China and the comments that came concurrently,” said Maruto on January 20.

He claims the market sees Joe Biden’s leadership would likely create an optimum condition with accommodating policies for the global market and bonds market for the United States and other countries, which include Indonesia.

Ramdhan believes the positive catalyst will attract foreign investors to re-enter the Indonesian obligation market due to the growing global demand and liquidity from the U.S. stimulus packages.
